I could pull you out of a tophat
Abracadabra and kalamazoo
But what would that make of you?
Hollow legerdemain:
We both know the stage is lined with mirrors
To make you appear larger than life.
The audience applauds
Only that which they cannot refute.
To thrive
We must make you an enigma.

I am thinking Witness Protection. They'd make it disappear alright.

I'll admit, I had to look up legerdemain. An strange word choice that almost seems to gum the works up with its oddness.
Interesting and fun piece, I enjoyed the idea of the audience almost being forced to applaud.
The first and last lines don't seem to fit in my mind though. This may just be how I'm approaching it, but the first few lines seem derisive, while the last two lines seem as though they're trying to be helpful. It gives an odd feeling to the poem, not necessarily a bad one, but one that does make me reevaluate the original tone.
