If a poet translates hearts,
Then I am a poor poet.
My heart is a false cognate:
A word laid like bait
To ensnare your interest
And lead you to a conclusion
You were better off without.

I love the idea and the execution of it, but I have issue with your choice of the word 'cognate'. Even after looking it up, it doesn't seem to make sense used in context.
Other than that, wonderful piece of art.
